Refund and Cancellation Policy
When a fee is refundable and when it is not, how to cancel, what happens if a file is not eligible or an office refuses, and how long a refund takes.
Quick answer
Can we get our money back?
Yes, in most situations, in proportion to the work already done. Money we have paid out on your behalf — government fees, stamp paper, notary charges — cannot be recovered and is not refundable. If we tell you your file is not eligible before work starts, you pay nothing.
| Document check | Free. No payment is taken before we have seen your documents |
|---|---|
| Cancel before work starts | Full refund of the service fee |
| Cancel after work starts | Pro-rata refund for work not yet done |
| Government fees & stamp paper | Not refundable once paid to the government |
| If we find you are not eligible | No service fee is charged |
| Refund time | Usually 7–10 working days to the original payment method |

1. The principle
You should pay for work that was done, and you should not pay for work that was not. Everything below is an application of that idea.
We do not ask for any payment before we have seen your documents and told you what is realistically possible. That first document check is free, and it exists precisely so that neither side starts something that cannot finish.
2. What is refundable and what is not
| Charge | Refundable? | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Our service fee, before any work has started | Yes, in full | Nothing has been consumed |
| Our service fee, after work has started | Partly | We refund the portion for work not yet done and tell you what was completed |
| Government registration or notice fee | No, once paid | It has gone to the government, not to us |
| Stamp paper and notarisation charges | No, once purchased or attested | Third-party charges already incurred |
| Mandir, pandit, photography, catering | As per that provider | These are independent third parties; we will pass on whatever they allow |
| Courier, travel and out-of-pocket costs | No, once incurred | Already spent on your file |
| Any amount where documents were found to be forged or facts concealed | No | See section 6 |
3. How to cancel
Tell us in writing — a WhatsApp message to +91 7011476967 or an email to info@aryasamajmandirsdelhi.in is enough. Include the name on the file and the date you engaged us.
The cancellation takes effect when we receive it. We will reply with a short statement showing what had been done, what was paid out on your behalf, and the refund figure.
4. If your file is not eligible
If, after seeing your documents, we conclude that the route you wanted is not available to you — for example an Arya Samaj ceremony where the parties are of different faiths and neither wishes to convert, or a same-day registration where the Special Marriage Act notice period applies — we will tell you and we will not take a service fee for a file that cannot proceed.
Where an alternative lawful route exists, we will describe it and quote for it separately. You are free to walk away.
5. If an office raises an objection or refuses
Government offices can raise queries or refuse a file for reasons that appear after submission — a name mismatch on an original, an address that does not establish jurisdiction, a witness who does not attend, a valid objection during the notice period.
Where the query can be cured, we will do the corrective work as part of the same engagement at no further service fee, provided the underlying documents you gave us were true. Fresh government fees, fresh stamp paper or fresh notarisation, if the office requires them, are payable again because they are paid out again.
Where the file cannot proceed at all for a reason that existed in your documents from the start and was not disclosed to us, section 6 applies.
6. Where no refund is due
No refund is payable for a delay caused by you — failing to attend an appointment, failing to produce originals, or witnesses who do not come — beyond the pro-rata position in section 2.
7. How long a refund takes
Approved refunds are usually processed within 7 to 10 working days and are returned to the original payment method or, where that is not possible, by bank transfer to an account in the name of the person who paid. We do not refund to a third-party account.
Bank processing time is outside our control. If a refund has not reached you within 15 working days of our confirmation, contact us and we will trace it.
8. If you disagree with a refund decision
Write to our Grievance Officer at info@aryasamajmandirsdelhi.in setting out what you think is wrong. We will review it and reply with reasons. Nothing in this policy affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 2019.
